When Timothy McViegh blew up the Oklahoma City Federal Building – the radical leftist press didn’t attempt to “understand” his motivations, they didn’t attempt to “feel his pain”, they didn’t attempt to excuse his dispicable actions.

Instead … they stuck a needle in his arm.

And they did that because McViegh was a right wing White guy.   The kind of guy they hate.

Now that we have a Muslim Army Major that has killed thirteen American Heros, a guy who never served a day in combat zone and basically was a leech on the Army …

The radical socialist press is “all about” trying to understand this guy’s “profound pain”.

Laughable.

Put this guy in front a firing squad … and do it quickly.

Anyone who reads this blog for more than five seconds knows that I view Obama as a radical leftist who is bent on destroying the free-market capitalist system in America – and dismantling the United States as a Super Power.

That said … some Conservative bloggers today are calling Ogabe a “flip-flopper” on missile defense – but it’s not true.  I would love to charge Ogabe with another blunder – but you can’t here.  Well – you can … but not the blunder most people are charging him with.

Let’s recap … last month, the Obama administration unexpectedly scrapped the Bush Missile Defense Plan for Poland and Czechoslovakia …

Now the way Ogabe did this … suddenly and without warning to our allies – was irresponsible and erratic.  The fact that he made this announcement on the 70th anniversary of the Soviet invasion of Poland was even more idiotic.  This all proves that the “brain trust” in the Ogabe White House is about as deep and broad as a kid who gets a great idea to piss on an electric fence.

However, to be fair … the White House DID say at the time that the Bush Missile Defense plan in Europe was being scrapped in favor of a more capable system that could be deployed in Europe sooner.

President Obama has approved the recommendation of Secretary of Defense Gates and the Joint Chiefs of Staff for a phased, adaptive approach for missile defense in Europe.  This approach is based on an assessment of the Iranian missile threat, and a commitment to deploy technology that is proven, cost-effective, and adaptable to an evolving security environment.

Starting around 2011, this missile defense architecture will feature deployments of increasingly-capable sea- and land-based missile interceptors, primarily upgraded versions of the Standard Missile-3 (SM-3), and a range of sensors in Europe to defend against the growing ballistic missile threat from Iran.  This phased approach develops the capability to augment our current protection of the U.S. homeland against long-range ballistic missile threats, and to offer more effective defenses against more near-term ballistic missile threats.  The plan provides for the defense of U.S. deployed forces, their families, and our Allies in Europe sooner and more comprehensively than the previous program, and involves more flexible and survivable systems.

Note here that the very first line the White House claims this new plan was developed by Robert Gates and the Department of Defense.  I don’t know about you – but I TRUST the word of Robert Gates.  What did Gates say about this?

According to the New York Times last month …

“Those who say we are scrapping missile defense in Europe are either misinformed or misrepresenting the reality of what we are doing,” Mr. Gates said. He added that the new configuration “provides a better missile defense capability” for Europe and American forces “than the program I recommended almost three years ago.”

And here’s the “money shot” … Robert Gates explains a bit of how the new missile defense system will look …

Mr. Obama stressed that Mr. Gates and the Joint Chiefs of Staff supported the decision, and he sent Mr. Gates, a Republican first appointed by Mr. Bush, to discuss the decision with reporters. Mr. Gates said that the new system would put defenses in place seven years earlier than the Bush plan. While no longer deploying the original interceptors in Poland, the United States “would prefer to put the SM-3s in Poland,” Mr. Gates said.

So Gates said a month ago that they’d like put new SM-3 interceptors in Poland.

Why then is Ogabe being called a “flip-flopper” by today’s announcement that they intend to do exactly that?

The Obama plan would place SM-3 anti-ballistic missiles at a former air base in the town of Redzikowo in northern Poland — the same site that was to host U.S. missile interceptors in underground silos under the Bush plan.

It sounds to me like Gates came up with a better system and convinced Ogabe to go for it.  It now looks like we get MORE missiles in Europe SOONER under this new plan than under the old Bush plan.  The Bush missiles would have gone into deployment in 2018 … but according to the White House (last month) … this new system is deployed three years sooner – in 2015 …

Phase Two (in the 2015 timeframe) – After appropriate testing, deploy a more capable version of the SM-3 interceptor (Block IB) in both sea- and land-based configurations, and more advanced sensors, to expand the defended area against short- and medium-range missile threats;

The Bush plan was for a field of 10 big missiles.  This new plan could reach 40 to 50 missiles.  Now – they are smaller missiles – but Gates seems to think this is the way to go.

Where’s the flip flop?  We need to be careful here in accusing Ogabe of anything sinister.  This has all the marks of good decision making in the DoD which they were miraculously able to convince Ogabe to back.

UPDATE:  In a speech to the Center for Security Policy tonight … my hero, Dick Cheney crucifies Obama for the way he canceled the Bush missile deal with the Pole’s and the Czech’s …

It is certainly not a model of diplomacy when the leaders of Poland and the Czech Republic are informed of such a decision at the last minute in midnight phone calls. It took a long time and lot of political courage in those countries to arrange for our interceptor system in Poland and the radar system in the Czech Republic. Our Polish and Czech friends are entitled to wonder how strategic plans and promises years in the making could be dissolved, just like that – with apparently little, if any, consultation. Seventy years to the day after the Soviets invaded Poland, it was an odd way to mark the occasion.

Absolutely true … but Cheney falls for “the line” here …

In the short of it, President Obama’s cancellation of America’s agreements with the Polish and Czech governments was a serious blow to the hopes and aspirations of millions of Europeans. For twenty years, these peoples have done nothing but strive to move closer to us, and to gain the opportunities and security that America offered. These are faithful friends and NATO allies, and they deserve better. The impact of making two NATO allies walk the plank won’t be felt only in Europe. Our friends throughout the world are watching and wondering whether America will abandon them as well.

Cheney is both right and wrong.  He’s right that Ogabe’s diplomatic handling of the missile defense issue is abhorrent.  He’s wrong that we really abandoned the Poles and the Czechs – although … it sure looked like we did.

What Ogabe should have done is this … he should have gone to the Czechs and the Poles and told them he wanted to “renegotiate” the deal to include larger numbers of smaller missiles – and he should have explained his strategic rationale for doing it.  They would have gone for it with no problems.  Then he could have jointly announced the strategic shift with them and the problem would have been solved.

What Ogabe needs to do now is include the Czechs in on the new SM-3 missile deal.  I don’t know if Gates wanted to put missiles there but he needs to find a way to include them.  That’s a diplomatic issue but I’m sure the Czechs can be asset to our missile defense system.

This really could have all been avoided if Ogabe were a competent President.

Based on new polling data – it appears that Arnold Schwarzenegger has about a 24% approval rating. I call this the “RINO effect” – it’s what happens to a Republican “moderate”.

His now … 74% disapproval rating isn’t made up of a homogeneous group of people who disapprove of him for the same reasons and that’s how this can be a bit deceptive.  Some of his disapproval comes from California Republicans and Independents who want Schwarzenegger to behave like a Conservative Republican.  Some of his disapproval comes from California Liberal Democrats who don’t like him because he’s a Republican.

Think about that a moment.  “The Terminator” is a Republican – so he can’t change his disapproval from Democratic ideologues through anything he will ever do.

However – if he had just held true to the ideals of that “other” famous and highly popular actor-Governor of California (read:  Ronald Reagan) – then he’d at least have (and I’ll “low-ball” this estimate) … 40% support.  In fact – I’ll dare go as far as saying that if he’d stood on his principles from the beginning – his approval would have been even higher than that because he would have picked up the support and admiration of independent and non-Socialist Democrats.

How the mighty fall.  From “Great GOP Hope” to “Girly-Man Dope”.  This is the path of the RINO.  The path of the Frumian.  The path of those who can’t hold true to their ideals.

Nancy Pelosi, in an article co-written with her sidekick, Steny Hoyer – is upset.

It seems that Nancy is aggravated by the fact that the townhall protesters are not allowing proper debate to happen in the townhalls being held this month. And, as a result – she’s calling them out as “Un-American” for stifling debate on this “historic issue”.

Apparently – Nancy thinks it’s fine to show up at the townhalls – but you ought to listen and be respectful – and normally I would agree with her – but not in this case.

The reason that no rational debate can happen on the topic of healthcare is because the Democrats have repeatedly been bold-faced liars when speaking about the issue.

Do a search on YouTube and you’ll find plenty of videos of Democrats, including the President himself, speaking to their Liberal constituencies and bragging about the fact that … “Yes, our healthcare bill is designed to implement ’single payer’ throughout the nation – might take awhile – but the bill will put the insurance companies out of business”.

In that same YouTube search you’ll also find those same Democrats talking to Conservatives and using capitalist rhetoric to sell their “lie”. Proclaiming that … “You can keep your insurance” and “This is just ‘competition’”.

Not being capitalists – they aren’t very good at the rhetoric, but forget about that for a moment – because the deception here is just blatant.

And now Nancy Pelosi wants to blame the American people for refusing to listen her – after her party has been caught telling a huge lie to the American people.

Not only is she blaming them – but she’s labelling them “Un-American”.

And not only is she labelling them “Un-American” … she’s insinuating they are some kind of radical Nazis for bringing “swastikas” to the protests. But when we look into her allegations – we find it’s another lie. The “swastika” she’s complaining about is actually an ANTI-NAZI symbol.

Another lie told by Pelosi.

Look, if Nancy Pelosi wants to have a “serious debate” – then she and her party need to drop the mask.  They say they want “bi-partisanship” – but they continue to lock the Republicans out of the debate.

They “say” they want REAL reform in health care – yet in 1,000 pages of “health care reform” they don’t mention tort reform even once – and that has to happen if you’re going to be serious about bringning down the cost of healthcare.

There’s no reason to have a “reasoned” debate with liars.  There’s no reason to compromise – this proposal needs to be shouted down and voted down.

It seems pretty clear to me.

I’m sorry – but as a good American – I must turn myself in for punishment.

I am guilty of holding a different opinion from the President of the United States. I am guilty of expressing that opinion, both verbally and through emails with my friends. I’m guilty of communicating with Tea Party Associations and I’m guilty of communicating with my representatives in Congress and expressing my opposition to ObamaCare.

In addition: I have made the following assertions to people I meet (both in person and through internet communication …)

1. I have spread the “rumor” that ObamaCare will bankrupt this nation (because it will).

2. I have spread the “rumor” that ObamaCare will cause rationing of healthcare in the United States (because it will).

3. I have stated that Obama’s goal is to enact a “single payer” healthcare system in the United States (because I’ve seen video of him advocating just that).

4. I have stated that Obama is a Socialist (because only a Socialist would take over the car companies and hand them to labor unions – of course, that’s just one tidbit of evidence in the growing pile of evidence that Obama is a Socialist).

… I think you get the point.

So … I am guilty. Send the Stormtroopers for me. I probably should be locked away as a political prisoner in a Gulag for Americans who are guilty of Conservative thought. Here’s an idea – once you’ve released all the terrorists … maybe you can put us all in GITMO?

Silly me – I thought there was a First Amendment – I’ve even seen copies of the Constitution saying that I have a right to oppose anyone that I wish. I thought, hell – if it was okay for Obama to sit on a board with a convicted terrorist – then it must be alright for me to associate with law abiding Tea Party folk – but apparently I was mistaken.

The Democrats will borrow a page from their best Iranaian buddy – Amadinnerjacket … who blamed the Iranian protests on traitors who were conspiring with Americans. The Dem’s will do the same – and try to paint these protests as “coordinated stageshows” by radical Anti-American Conservatives.

Go ahead – it won’t work Mr. Democrat. Because too many people are cheering these “radicals” on from their living rooms!

Why did Joe Biden show up “unexpectedly” at the White House Beer summit?

Joe was needed at the Beer Summit to add “racial balance” to the photo-op.  Without Joe … it would have been a gathering of two powerful black men and one (not powerful) white man.

That would have detracted from the President’s “Evil White Cop” teaching moment.

Thusly – Joe Biden was called in to add balance.

And by the way – I think that Ogabe OWES Sgt. Crowley.  Crowley could have capitalized on this and drug the White House through the mud.  He could have – like so many of Obama’s friends (cough)Skip Gates(cough) … used this moment to claim a lot more than his fifteen minutes of fame.

The Evil White Cop … Sgt. Crowley – didn’t do that.  Instead, he’s been completely gracious to the President and to Gates.  An honorable man.

Who got no apology from our DIS-Honorable President.

It’s done, let me count the ways …

1. Obama’s approval rating is tanking – it’s under 50% now. This is due to the fact that, as Ben Stein says – “Americans have figured Obama out” (finally). It’s also thanks to Obama himself – who completely erased his reputation last week as a “post-racial” figure when he condemned a White cop for properly performing his duty. Without the people’s approval – Obama doesn’t have the octane to sell a “sham-wow”.

2. The Blue Dogs have emerged as a major force in the Democratic party – and they have a lot of credibility with Americans. Their Political Action Committee is filling up with cash. Pelosi and Reed have burned a lot of bridges with the Blue Dogs over the years – and twisted a lot of arms. Now that the Dawgs are behind the wheel – don’t expect them to get from behind it until they’ve backed over Reed and Pelosi’s twitching bodies several times.

3. Calls to Congressional lawmakers from constituents are running heavily against the current health care proposals.  In short – Americans are now “smart” about what this bill contains – and the hell it will make their lives. Once “smarted” – they can’t be “un-smarted”.

4. We’ve recovered the body – and it’s 1,000 pages of every liberal nightmare you can imagine. Think Americans are smart now? Just wait until we do the autopsy on THIS BABY and they learn how closely we dodged a bullet. The corpse of this bill will taint any future partisan bill that the Democrats propose. And the people will at least insist that it be read and debated – and it’ll go down in flames again and again and again. The only hope of getting socialized medicine passed was to it with stealth – and quickly. It won’t happen that way now.

5. The defeat is so crushing, it’s awakened Democrats to the fact that Obama is actually human. They know now that they may not be running for reelection next year with a popular Presidential wind at their backs. From here on out – it’s self preservation time. This means they’ll be listening to their constituents and responding to their demands. See reason #3 above.

6.  We’re broke.  I’m  not happy ab0ut this – but the fact is – Obama can’t do what he wants to do without bloating out the deficit even more.  He doesn’t have the money to do socialized medicine.  Sure, he can go into debt – but Americans are more concerned about the debt now than they are health care.

Soooo, it’s done folks.

Will there be a compromise?

Maybe – but we don’t need to fear it.

Any bill passed now will have to be bi-partisan – or at least get the Blue Dog stamp of approval. I believe the big story in all this is how the Blue Dawgs have emerged as an angry political force within the Democratic party – and it’s due to Pelosi and Reed overreaching and ruling over them with an iron fist. They are angry. Additionally – expect them to vote as a UNITED BLOC on this.

But what about medical insurance co-op’s – won’t that be a bad thing? Honestly – I don’t know. But the “co-op” is a “not-for-profit” company – and Sarah Palin can easily sell that off when she becomes President in 2012!! Hehe!

The only thing we have to fear are socialized ideas that increase the government’s entitlement exposure.  Co-ops do that, but as I said – they can be sold off by the next President and Congress. In fact, it might be a positive thing for measures like this to be passed – as they produce “low hanging fruit” for the next Conservative President to pull down.

Relax … We’ve won. Feels good huh?

 You’re going to hear a lot of news this weekend about Barack Obama’s Health Care Plan, about the confirmation hearings of Supreme Court Justice nominee Sotomeyer … 

You’re going to hear about Cap and Tax and you’re going to hear about the 40th anniversary of Neil Armstrong’s historic first steps on the moon. 

What you’re not going to hear about however – is the 40th anniversary of the woman who was killed by Senator Ted Kennedy – Mary Jo Kopechne. 

I can think of no higher example of Democratic hypocrisy than to point out that one of the primary “heros” of modern liberalism and “Lion of the Senate”, Ted Kennedy – actually KILLED a woman and attempted to cover it up.  The next time you hear a member of the Democratic party talk about Republican corruption – point out to them that they’ve been willing co-conspirators with Ted Kennedy in the death of Mary Jo Kopechne for over 40 years.  While they ran Trent Lott out of his leadership position in the Senate for simply saying nice things about Strom Thurmond at his birthday party – they have elevated a cowardly killer who has enjoyed a life of power he should have never been allowed to have.  Indeed, earlier this year, Ted Kennedy even became an honorary Knight of the British Empire.  

Let’s review the Lion of the Senate’s brave and heroic actions on that night … 40 years ago, on 18 July, 1969 … 

** On July 18, 1969, Ted Kennedy attended a party on Chappaquiddick, a small island connected via ferry to the town of Edgartown on the adjoining larger island of Martha’s Vineyard. The party was a reunion for a group of six women, including Kopechne, known as the “boiler-room girls” who had served in his brother Robert’s 1968 presidential campaign. Also present were Joseph Gargan (Ted Kennedy’s cousin), Paul Markham (a school friend of Gargan’s who would become United States Attorney for Massachusetts under the patronage of the Kennedys), Charles Tretter (an attorney), Raymond La Rosa and John Crimmins (Ted Kennedy’s part-time driver). Kennedy was also competing in the Edgartown Yacht Club Regatta, a sailing competition which was taking place over several days. 

** According to his own testimony at the inquest into Kopechne’s death, Kennedy left the party at “approximately 11:15 p.m.” When he announced that he was about to leave, Kopechne indicated “that she was desirous of leaving, if I would be kind enough to drop her back at her hotel”. Kennedy then requested the keys to his car from his chauffeur, Crimmins. Asked why he did not have his chauffeur drive them both, Kennedy explained that Crimmins along with some other partygoers “were concluding their meal, enjoying the fellowship and it didn’t appear to me necessary to require him to bring me back to Edgartown”.  Kopechne told no one that she was leaving with Kennedy, and left her purse and hotel key at the party.  

NOTE:  This is Kennedy’s explanation for leaving the party late at night, with a single woman – not his wife.  It’s curious and inconsistent with Kennedy’s testimony that Mary Jo wanted to return to her hotel – when she left her keys and purse at the party. 

** Christopher “Huck” Look was a deputy sheriff working as a special police officer at the Edgartown regatta dance that night. At 12:30 am he left the dance, crossed over to Chappaquiddick in the yacht club’s launch, got into his parked car and drove home. He testified that between 12:30 and 12:45 am he had seen a dark car containing a man driving and a woman in the front seat approaching the intersection with Dike Road. The car had gone first onto the private Cemetery Road and stopped there. Thinking that the occupants of the car might be lost, Look had gotten out of his car and walked towards it. When he was 25 to 30 feet away, the car started backing up towards him. When Look called out to offer his help, the car took off down Dike Road in a cloud of dust.  Look recalled that the car’s license plate began with a “L” and contained the number “7″ twice, both details true of Kennedy’s 1967 Oldsmobile Delmont 88. 

NOTE:  Deputy Look witnessed Kennedy’s car STILL in Chappaquiddick at 12:30 am – which is one hour and fifteen minutes after Kennedy says he left the party to go back to the hotel.  In one hour and fifteen minutes – you could drive 75 miles at 60 miles per hour.  The ferry that Kennedy was supposedly headed for … was no more than 4 miles away from the party he had attended.  Incidentally – Kennedy told police he intended to catch the last ferry to Martha’s Vineyard at midnight.  So here’s Kennedy – 30 to 45 minutes AFTER his ferry has left – and he’s still driving about Chappaquiddick with Mary Jo.  Was Kennedy drunk?  Not according to his television statement after the incident – in which he claimed he was NOT under the influence of alcohol.  So here’s a totally lucid Kennedy, unable to make it to his ferry even though he began the journey 45 minutes before the ferry was due to depart.  Remember – Kennedy is familiar with this area. 

** According to his inquest testimony, Kennedy made a wrong turn onto Dike Road, an unlit dirt road that led to Dike Bridge (also spelled Dyke Bridge). Dike Road was unpaved, but Kennedy, driving at “approximately twenty miles an hour”, took “no particular notice” of this fact, and did not realize that he was no longer headed towards the ferry landing.  Dike Bridge was a wooden bridge angled obliquely to the road with no guardrail. A fraction of a second before he reached the bridge, Kennedy applied his brakes; he then drove over the side of the bridge. The car plunged into tide-swept Poucha Pond (at that location a channel) and came to rest upside down underwater. Kennedy later recalled that he was able to swim free of the vehicle, but Kopechne was not. 

NOTE:  So here we have Kennedy, a man who was born and raised in this area, getting lost and travelling in the OPPOSITE direction from the ferry he says he was trying to reach.  Kennedy says he make a “wrong turn” but somehow he wasn’t tipped off that he had made a wrong turn when he found himself on a dirt road?  Additionally – in order to make that “wrong turn” … Kennedy had to overlook a reflective sign right in front of him with an arrow on it pointing the way to the fucking ferry he says he wanted to catch.   

In fact, the route Kennedy was actually on was taking he and Mary Jo to a beach just beyond the bridge he drove off of.  Hmmmmm… 

In fact – that beach is just about 100 yards beyond the foot of Dike Bridge – it’s the only thing after the bridge.  It meets a long stretch of very nice beach – probably the nicest on the island.  Google Map it – you’ll see that today lots of cars are parked just before the bridge – no doubt beachgoers out for some relaxation.  It’s not a stretch to conclude that Kennedy knew exactly where he was going – he was travelling down a dirt road at 20 miles an hour – while he lost – but not drunk?  No … he was familiar with this road.  Don’t know why he missed the bridge though on the way to what he surely thought, or hoped, would be a romantic get-away with Mary Jo.

Kennedy said that when the vehicle overturned in the water … “I felt water enter my lungs” and he felt the sensation of drowning.  Somehow, he managed to get to the surface – and he then stated that he dove repeatedly into the water to free Mary Jo from the wreckage.  Howver, Kennedy was encumbered by a back brace from an airplane crash in 1964 … and the fact that his lungs had filled with water (he says) … combined would have put this man in a very bad physical condition to dive several times into the cold water in a 1.5 knot current.

**  According to Kennedy … after his diving attempts to save Mary Jo – he rested on the bank for fifteen minutes – then walked back to the party at Lawrence Cottage. 

NOTE:  Along this route … Kennedy passed at least four lighted houses with telephones from which he COULD have called and summoned help.  He failed to do so – opting instead, to simply continue walking to the party.  The first house he passed, “Dike House” was occupied, lighted, and only 150 yards from the bridge.  Note here that there is a possiblity that, at this time – Mary Jo may well have still been alive in the vehicle – perhaps breathing in a trapped air bubble that was in the car.  Yet Kennedy walks past the Dike house – and three other houses – back to the party. 

** Kennedy then tells two different stories about what happened when he reached the party again.  He told police he jumped in the back of a car and asked someone else to drive him back to Edgartown.  How he finally managed to get to Edgartown – he didn’t relate.  However, in his public statements he had a second explanation, he said that when he reached the cottage, he talked to Gargan and Paul Markham, a former U.S. attorney for Massachusetts, and took them back to the bridge. Both of his friends then dived into the water, Kennedy said on TV, but failed to find Mary Jo. 

NOTE:  Neither Gargan nor Markham reported the incident to the police and, at this time – neither had Kennedy.  Let’s recap this sportsfans … these three men are pretty certain there’s a dead girl in the water and they have done nothing to report this to the authorities.  These aren’t redneck hicks – these men are all educated lawyers! 

**  Kennedy then says Gargan and Markham drove him to the ferry landing – where Kennedy suddenly dives into the water and SWIMS back to his hotel at Edgartown – nearly drowning in the process, according to Kennedy.  Gargan and Markham, however – never tell the other girls back at the party what happened – and Kennedy didn’t tell them either when he returned to the party after the accident.  

NOTE:  Does any of this sound like there’s a cover-up already happening? 

**  Kennedy emerges from the water – and returns to his hotel room – where he says he collapsed on his bed.  However – Hearing noises, he later put on a dry SUIT AND TROUSERS and asked the co-owner of the hotel what the time was: it was something like 2:30 a.m.  Kennedy then COMPLAINS that there’s a noisy party that’s keeping him awake (now there’s BALLS for you).  

NOTE:  The man he’s talking to … Russell Peachy, says that Kennedy looks fine – he’s dry and doesn’t look the least bit “in shock” – which is a state that Kennedy later claimed he was in at this point. 

** At 7:30 the next morning … Kennedy is at the hotel and he’s relaxed, dressed and having casual conversations with acquaitances.  Gargan and Markham then show up at the hotel and notice Kennedy and drag him back to his room where they have a heated conversation.  The two lawyers were, by this time, reportedly upset that Kennedy had not even yet reported the accident to authorities.  So what do these men do?  Do they report the accident?  Nope … they get on the ferry and go back to Chappaquiddick. 

**  Upon arrival at Chappaquiddick – Kennedy uses a pay phone – not to call the police or other authorities – but to call friends for advice.  Note here … Kennedy makes not just one call – he makes several to his “friends”. 

NOTE:  At this point – only Kennedy, Gargan and Markham even know about the accident – none of the others who attended the party know. 

** Earlier that morning, two amateur fishermen had seen the overturned car in the water and notified the inhabitants of the nearest cottage to the pond, who called the authorities at around 8:20 am.  A diver was sent down and discovered Kopechne’s body at around 8:45 am.  The diver, John Farrar, later testified at the inquest that Kopechne’s body was pressed up in the car in the spot where an air bubble would have formed. He interpreted this to mean that Kopechne had survived for a while after the initial accident in the air bubble, and concluded that … 

“Had I received a call within five to ten minutes of the accident occurring, and was able, as I was the following morning, to be at the victim’s side within twenty-five minutes of receiving the call, in such event there is a strong possibility that she would have been alive on removal from the submerged car” 

** By this time the police know that the car belonged to Kennedy – and they’re looking for him.  Kennedy is still at the ferry crossing at Chappaquiddick when he realizes that Mary Jo’s body has been found.  So he calls another lawyer … and … RETURNS to Edgartown. 

** AT 10 AM!! Kennedy finally walks into the Edgartown police stations – make a couple more phone calls … then DICTATES A STATEMENT to Paul Markham – which is then handed to the police. 

Negligent Manslaughter, Lies, and Coverup – that’s what this was.  Kennedy’s crimes were facilitated by Masachusetts state authorities who didn’t press him for answers and allowed him to get away with a simple typed statement as an explanation of the accident.  A statement, by the way – that differs in some cases from the statements Kennedy made on public television later. 

Mary Jo Kopechne … who had worked for civil rights in the South during her brief career – is DEAD. 

Ted Kennedy got a suspended sentence on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident.  He has been a Senator ever since – and is considered the “Lion of the Senate”.  He is now physically ill with brain cancer and will no doubt be hailed as a great American “patriot” when he dies – likely soon. 

Richard Nixon covered up a simple break-in … a break in that he had no knowledge of – but he attempted to cover up later when he found out about it.  No one lost their life in Watergate.  Yet Nixon resigned and later died in disgrace. 

TED KENNEDY KILLED A WOMAN.  YET HE WILL BE REMEMBERED AS A “HERO”. 

Ted Kennedy is a coward, a manslaughterer, a hypocrite … and despicable person.  He has enjoyed existence on this earth for 40 years longer than he deserved.  I will shed no tears when this man passes.
