This man is Charles Rangel … he’s a Democrat from New York who is the CHAIRMAN … that means he “runs” the U.S. House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee.
The House Ways and Means Committee is the chief Tax writing committee of the U.S. House of Representatives. So you’d think he’s familiar with tax law correct?
House Ways and Means Chairman Charles Rangel of New York admitted last week that in recent years he has underpaid his taxes by about $10,000…
… His lawyer says Mr. Rangel flubbed his tax return by failing to record some $75,000 of rental income he received from a beach house he owns at a posh Dominican Republic resort. Mr. Rangel professes to have made an honest mistake, and says “I personally feel that I have done nothing morally wrong.” He explained that he didn’t know how much income he received from the property because his Dominican business partners would “start speaking Spanish.”
But that’s not all … there’s much smoke with this fire …
In July the New York Times revealed that a New York City developer let Mr. Rangel lease four apartments in a Harlem building at below-market rents. One of the apartments was used as a campaign office. That’s a no-no under New York State law, which requires rent-stabilized apartments to be used for primary residences only. Mr. Rangel dumped the campaign office. Then came the revelation in The Post that Mr. Rangel was using his congressional stationery to request meetings with deep-pocketed New York powerbrokers to discuss a school of public service named after him in his district. House rules prohibit using stationery for solicitations. No, he didn’t make outright requests for cash in those letters. But when a note arrives from the chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, it’s bound to get extra attention.
And remember this … Charles Rangel’s Congressional “Earmark” for the monument to himself?
Yet … with all this obvious corruption surrounding Charles Rangel … the Democratic Leadership WILL NOT remove him from his post as Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee. Nancy Pelosi promised this Democratic Congress would be the most “ethical in history” … See Democratic Promise #76
But it’s an empty promise … just words. This Democratic Congress only enforces ethic violations on Republicans while turning a blind eye to the rampant corruption in their own party. This is pretty pathetic folks and it’s time to ask the question …

Not likely … since SENATOR Obama has never taken on Democratic Party Leadership – no even once. In fact … why would Obama say a damn thing about Charlie Rangel’s “sweetheart deal” properties … since Obama has his own problems in that area … a la Tony Resko …
So no … the Democrats won’t do a damn thing about this … and Charlie Rangel … the man who WRITES the TAX code …
The man who has a whole slew of new taxes that he is going to unleash on you as soon as Obama is in the White House …
The man who EXPECTS YOU TO PAY YOUR TAXES …
THE MAN WHO EXEMPTS HIMSELF FROM HAVING TO PAY THOSE TAXES (then pleads “stupidity”) …
