A seed is planted … video here.
Many people will think this is an innocent remark … I don’t think so.
On the old Nixon’s Ghost blog … I posed the question of whether or not Joe Biden would leave the ticket.
I postulated that I thought he would … if McCain could get a double-digit lead in the polls. Well, McCain did hit a 10% lead in likely voters a few days ago in a Gallup / USA poll. More importantly though … there’s seems to be a huge structural shift in women’s support of the Obama ticket. They seem to be moving away and toward McCain.
Numbers aside … if Camp Obama believes they will lose the election … they will jettison Joe and attempt to go for a woman – probably Hillary. Earlier I postulated it might be Caroline Kennedy but I’m reversing that … Obama has ZERO experience in foreign policy and so does she. And really only Hillary can save him possibly.
Obama meeting with Bill Clinton on Thursday … and he’s going to “Bill’s Place” to pay homage to the big dude himself. My guess is … his hat will be in hand as he steps into Bill’s Harlem headquarters.
Obama diving in the polls. Joe Biden hints that Hillary would have been a better “pick” for VP. Obama going to see Bill Clinton this week.
I don’t know how they’ll plan Joe Biden’s exit … but I sense it’s coming.
Now … the big question is … will Hillary take deal?
Anyone’s guess in my opinion. I’ve always thought that Hillary’s best chance at this point was a McCain win – and she’s the automatic nominee in 2012. With an Obama win … he’ll damage the Democratic Brand so badly that, like Jimmy Carter in 1980 … the Democrats will lose the the White House for more than a decade. Which means Hillary won’t be back in the White House for a very long time.
But now … when it appears Obama is about to implode … I predict that Bill and Hill might negotiate a very tough deal. One that makes them akin to “co-Presidents” if Hillary agrees.
Overall … I still think that is a risky deal for her. Hillary joining the ticket will not guarantee an Obama win – I mean let’s face it folks … the very thought of a switch to Hillary at this point is a bit creepy. And if Hillary goes down as a Vice Presidential nominee – she’s going to be “tarred” for a run at the Presidency in 2012.
But … I think there is a high probability that things are about to get weird.
